April gave us a great opportunity to step back and reflect on what really keeps things moving here at ASC Metals...
That's our people and the work we’re proud to support.
We celebrated some fantastic milestones across the team:
• Jacqueline Wright marked 7 years with ASC (and an incredible 39 years in the industry). For our Leeds customers, she’s a trusted and familiar voice who understands exactly what’s needed to keep things running smoothly.
• Lisa Rowden reached 8 years with us - playing a key role behind the scenes in our office, keeping organised, efficient, and the delivery notes on track.
• Danny hit his 6-year milestone - starting very early every morning, covering the miles, and ensuring deliveries arrive reliably across the Leeds area.
Alongside this, we shared more about the materials we supply and how they support our customers’ work.
Brass - particularly CZ121 - featured heavily this month.
Its machinability, reliability, and versatility make it a go-to choice across a wide range of applications, from precision components to everyday engineering needs.
We also introduced our brochure - a straightforward overview of how we support engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication businesses. Clear, practical, and focused on making things easier for our customers.
April has been a strong reminder that consistency, experience, and attention to detail make a real difference - both in the materials we supply and the service we provide.

If March had a theme at ASC Metals… it would be people.
First-ever videos. Big milestones. Tough goodbyes.

It's “Directors Month” - and for good reason.
First up, a huge milestone for our Managing Director, Richard Hoole, celebrating an incredible 37 years with the business. Not many people can say they were “persuaded” (dragged back from France mid-rugby adventure… his words might differ!) into the family business and then went on to lead it for decades.
Safe to say, we’re in good hands.
March also gave us a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come.
Back in 2023, we posted our very first LinkedIn video - no big production, no master plan… just a phone, a warehouse, and a team willing to give it a go.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was real.
And sometimes that’s exactly where the best things start.
We’ve also been celebrating the people who make ASC what it is. Nikki Butlin hit her four-year anniversary, and if you know Nikki, you’ll know the impact she’s had - driving things forward while bringing the team along with her.
👉 The kind of influence every business hopes for.
At the same time, we’ve had to say goodbye to one of our own. After seven years, Daniel Stark headed off to a new chapter, he’ll definitely be missed.
Behind the scenes, it’s been about growth too.
From launching our new 2026 leaflet, finally answering the question:
“So what do you do?” 🤔
Investing in our team with new forklift training for Tom and Vas, because a strong, safe team is always the priority.
And just to round things off, we revisited copper…
Strong, reliable, fights off bacteria, handles the pressure - basically the superhero of the metal world (cape optional).
All in all, a month of milestones, movement, and a few moments to look back and appreciate the journey.
